Providing Edutainers to Southern Africa

	1. The Bright Kid Foundation delivers “Edutainers' to pre-school communities in need. The Edutainer is a 12 metre, shipping container converted into a pre-school classroom. The conversion includes insulation, electrical outlets, lighting, chalkboard, soft board, 4 large windows, burglar proofing, vinyl flooring, cupboards, shelving, fire extinguisher, toys, books and furniture and the edutainer is attractively painted outside. 2. Specialist early childhood development NGOs locate suitable needy schools with well trained teachers. The Edutainer is branded with several logos: donor, recipient NGO, and Bright Kid.
3. Sponsors have responded well to the “project financing concept”, which allows them to see and assess their specific donation. We have delivered 100 Edutainers since 2000, and estimate the average attendance of paying students at 25 per Edutainer. 4. The very high quality of the unit together with well trained teachers has ensured that the community reputation of Edutainers is excellent, which contributes towards the “sustainability” of the Edutainers
